History Of Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk
Inspired by the idea of the Yellowstone National Park which was the first national park in the US, the concept of the Tamborine National park, and skywalk arose from a local pastoralist Robert Martin Collins. Motivated by the lookout for a new lifestyle, the Skywalk founders Ian and Jennifer, opened an alfresco Forest restaurant initially. With a plethora of problems including obtaining permission from the state and local council, volcanic soil remains, steep terrain, the structure of the skywalk took 120 large cranes. The tower columns measured 80 metres in length, and the walkway was 40 metres long. The Moore family, which initiated and undertook the construction of this magnificent skywalk, also took up conservation of native Australian flora and fauna, contributing to maintaining a healthy environment. The rainforest Skywalk Tamborine was inaugurated by the Federal Minister for Tourism, sir Martin Ferguson.
